Wayland Academy has over the last couple of years been recognised as a rapidly improving school with many good features.
We are being recognised as reaching above average academic achievements for our pupils and coupled with our ambitious and determined ethos "Releasing the Spirit of Success" in every child we are making great strides.
We want to be a school at the heart of our community for our community and serving the needs of our community for both pupils and adults alike.
We will offer every child a creative and personalised approach to their learning pathway through the school offering a wide range of academic and vocational courses.
We expect our students to acquire a regional, national and international outlook as they go through the school.
We also want them to be determined to succeed, working hard to improve those weaker areas and excelling in areas where they are gifted or talented.
We want to offer an education that caters for all types, treats them as individuals and considers what they could do for the world and what they need from it. The sense of mission in this school is clear - children first, enabling success and building strong life-skills and flexibility for the future.
I enjoy leading such a school and I find it rewarding and exhilarating to meet different young people each day and to see how they are working and improving themselves.
